[OOM] Eiattu - Royal Chambers

It takes Plourr several minutes to figure out why her dream is beeping, but eventually, she reaches out and shoves her hand through the bedcurtains, swiping blindly along the table beside her bed. She hits something (to be fair, she hits several somethings, and one or two of them go clattering to the floor). A quiet voice comes. She leans out of the curtains and holds a murmured, mostly-asleep conversation over the comm unit, holding the sheets over her chest. When she ducks back into the warmth of the bed, she rolls back over and-- finds herself face-to-face with Rial. He's sleeping, eyes closed and hair tied back, breathing evenly, and Plourr wonders, watching him, why she had never realized how handsome he is.





The princess grins sleepily and lazily tangles herself up in him.

"Mor'ing," Plourr mumbles into his shoulder, arm thrown across his chest and eyes closed.

His smile gets wider, and he lightly nibbles on her neck, up to the base of her ear, takes the earlobe in his teeth and tugs it lightly.

"Who called?"

[fighting_mad]

"Nnnf," is her first eloquent comment as she slowly slips her arms around his neck, curling around him.



She raises her head, hair standing up in every possible direction, and she says fuzzily, "They found them. Tycho and Leia. Except it was Winter, not Leia." A pause. "Does that make sense?"

"A bit."

He snickers quietly, doing his best to smooth down her hair.

[fighting_mad]

She flops back down. "Shut up, Pernon. 'S not my fault I got no sleep last night." But there's a slow smile against his neck even as she says it.

"You're certainly quite cuddly. Puts me in mind of a whisperkit."

Laughs, "And I got more?"

[fighting_mad]

" 'M not a whiskerkit," she grumbles. " 'M also not a morning person. Time's it?"

"Late."

He thinks.

"And yes, a kit. A little one." He plays with her hair for a moment, "Fuzzy."

[fighting_mad]

She starts to frown--no, she is not a little kit--but then her head comes up fast. "Late? How late? Kriff, Rial, the summit--"

[eiattu_pride]

"...oh, kriff."

He flails around, trying to find a chrono.

[fighting_mad]

See, it's difficult to find things when you're not in your own room. Plourr has the advantage here. She finds one first.



"It's 0430."

[eiattu_pride]

"Ah."

Rial relaxes.

"Or, I could be wrong."

[fighting_mad]

She reaches out to smack him-- but she just runs her fingers down his cheek instead, lying on her side with her head propped up on her other hand, quietly watching him.

He's watching her as well, through half-lidded eyes.

"Yes?"

[fighting_mad]

"You know that I only want you, right?" she says softly. "Because I do. I can't believe you waited so long for me to admit it."

[eiattu_pride]

He doesn't quite laugh, just smiles helplessly.

"I let you move at your own pace. Can't say it was easy."

[fighting_mad]

"I'm sorry."

It isn't said lightly. An apology from Plourr is very, very rare.

"You didn't do anything wrong."

He brings one large hand up to cup her face.

"Nothing."

[fighting_mad]

"I took you for granted. I hurt you; I know I did." A very faint laugh. "I don't know why you love me." Her eyes don't rise from the mattress, because she really doesn't.

[eiattu_pride]

"Plourr, that's not right."

He tilts her head up until he can look her in the eyes.

"I love you, and nothing you've ever done is going to change that. And you didn't hurt me, so that doesn't matter."

[fighting_mad]

She nods quietly, eyes on him.

He brushes his thumb across her lips.

"I promise."

[fighting_mad]

She looks at him another moment, and then she nods slowly. She leans forward and lightly presses her lips against his, with a hazy sweetness that is reserved for just Rial.

[eiattu_pride]

He deepens the kiss for a moment, then makes a soft noise in the back of his throat and pulls away. He's grinning quietly, "You have morning breath."

"I do not."
