[OOM] Eiattu - Palace

Plourr ducks out of the abandoned wing of the palace.

No, that's not entirely right; it's closed-off, not voluntarily abandoned. Boarded and locked up twelve years ago. She still hasn't been able to discover who ordered it closed, but she suspects the Grand Duke had a hand in it. No matter how shaky her relationship with him may be, she knows he loved his nephew, her father. She knows he was fond of her mother and her sisters.

Plourr goes there still, sometimes. The apartments are lifeless, barely touched over the years, but it's hard not to feel closer to her parents when she can sit on the edge of their bed. When she first went, it was to grieve. To rage that they had left her with all this shavit. Later, it was to find quiet, some momentary peace; to remember. But today, it is to express gratitude, and to tell her parents-- maybe they hadn't chosen so badly for her after all.

The palace is quiet. So is the city. Plourr saw the last of the summit attendees off earlier in the morning and now Eiattu rests and recovers from the stresses placed on her fledgling government and recently-repaired capital. The planet's princess, too, is ready for a rest, even if it's only for a few days and even if it's while fulfilling royal duties.

Of course, that doesn't mean she has to dress the part. It is a mini leave, after all. So Plourr's comfortable, casual in tight gray trousers, black pilot boots, a purple tunic with the sleeves pushed up to her elbows, and a black vest. The blaster strapped to her leg is authoritative, but she's relaxed as she steps out into the corridor.

"You should warn people when you're skulking in the shadows," she says by way of greeting, a small smile playing across her lips.

"That rather defeats the purpose."

Rial rolls his eyes.

[fighting_mad]

"Yes, but it also keeps them from shooting you."

[eiattu_pride]

"What if I want to shoot them?"

[fighting_mad]

She laughs. "You want to shoot me?"

[eiattu_pride]

"It would solve a few problems."

He smirks.

[fighting_mad]

She raises an amused eyebrow. "Such as?"

[eiattu_pride]

"I don't want to get rid of the moustache."

It's his friend.

[fighting_mad]

Plourr lets her next step carry her closer to him, and so her shoulder rises and falls in a shrug nearly against his arm. "Then don't."

[eiattu_pride]

"But then you won't kiss me anymore."

"I didn't say that. Did I say that?" Her brow furrows in thought, and she grins suddenly. "That's a good idea."

[eiattu_pride]

Oh.

Oh.

Oh, no.

"No, it's not. It's really not."

[fighting_mad]

"It is," Plourr persists gleefully. "You're a genius, Rial."

[eiattu_pride]

"Can we just pretend that the last five minutes didn't happen?"

[fighting_mad]

"No," she says.




She relents after a moment, looking over (though it's not very far over, considering how closely they're walking) at him with a crooked smile. "Maybe."

He bends over and lightly kisses the tip of her nose.

"Please?"

[fighting_mad]

She wrinkles her nose at him, but she's laughing under it.

Though she doesn't commit one way or the other.

"C'mon."

Presses a trail of kisses over her cheekbone, lightly nips her earlobe and then continues down her neck.

At some point, Plourr realizes, she stopped walking, because Rial would have been hard pressed to do that if she hadn't.

She just can't pinpoint when exactly that was.

"That--" She breathes. "That's not fair." Tipping her head away, baring her neck to him in trust and not giving a good goddamn who might see.

He keeps going, down her neck, kissing the hollow of her collarbone and laughing softly.

"I don't play fair."

[fighting_mad]

She leans into him and lets go of his hand only to curl her fingers into his hair, her other hand settled firmly on his shoulder. "Neither do I," she murmurs, and while she does nothing now, there is a promise in her voice. Later, it says.

"Perhaps, if you bribe me," and he deliberately scratches her with the moustache, "I'll reconsider."

[fighting_mad]

She pulls a decidedly unsexy face at the mustache-scratching.

"With what?"

[eiattu_pride]

He pulls back and laughs.

"Sex. Alcohol. Drugs. Doing some of my paperwork."

[fighting_mad]

Ohh no. She isn't letting him pull (get) away that easily.

For all her threats, she presses her lips against his very willingly. If very softly.
