[OOM] Corellia system
Directly after the memorial service that she had been dressing for, the one for Standro and Keyis (the one that she doesn't want to dwell on), there was the announcement. The wonderful announcement that the Baron Soontir Fel, formerly of Imperial service, formerly of Imperial service as of the last vaping battle they'd fought, the battle where Standro and Keyis had been killed, was joining Rogue Squadron.
Plourr restrained Nrin as he raged and tried to attack the man, but she sympathized. She felt like ripping Fel's fat head off herself. He'd shot down Rebels. Killed friends.
Then, of course, Wedge just had to top that bombshell with one that stank even more of shavit. And so it was that Plourr found herself on a little planet called Corellia, alongside Wes Janson and Hobbie Klivian, using her hard-earned leave time to search for Baron Soontir Fel's wife. Or his family. Or something.
Plourr, quite frankly, didn't give a damn.
It doesn't turn out all bad in the end.
An Imp creep gets killed. Plourr gets to kick some ass a few times.
("She'd do more damage if she'd actually shoot the rifle." "Tell her that. Spoil her fun." "Not for all the spice on Kessel.")
Hobbie picks up a disfiguring bugbite that looks like it might eat his head.
("I feel woozy. Am I pale?" "The bite won't kill you, but I might if you won't shut up.")
There's even a space battle, though she sits in the gun turret of a decrepit freighter ("Janson, give me better targets!" "Sure, Plourr, I'll comm them and ask them to parade by real slow") while kriffing midget-sized CorSec bug Corran Horn (now she knows why the insufferable little man laughed when they met. It takes all her willpower not to maliciously mention the squadron briefing) does the fancy flying in an X-wing.
They don't find the Baroness Fel. Plourr can't say she minds.
They do, however, find a few other members of the Fel family, and she saves the littlest of them from a nasty death. Per their orders, the three Rogues arrange to bring the Fels back to the New Republic. Later, she exchanges a few (very few) curt words with the two adults in the freighter's passenger dorm, and then passes through. She pauses a moment in the doorway and glances back at Fyric sleeping in his mother's lap.
("Do you have children?" "No.")
He's kinda cute, she thinks. For a vapin' kid.
She taps the bulkhead with a gloved hand and keeps moving through the ship.
